Adhkar App
Privacy policy
The short version: your adhkar record stays on your phone and in your own iCloud or Google backup. Our server holds only what an account, a subscription and Compete need, and nothing else leaves your device.

This policy explains what Adhkar App ("the app") does with information, on iPhone and on Android. It is written to be read. Where it says "we", it means Creative Bot Agency, the publisher of the app. Where it says "your record", it means the adhkar you have read, the counts you have tapped and the days, streaks and awards the app derives from them.
What stays on your phone
The app works without an account, and most people will never make one. Everything below is stored only on your device, in a store that belongs to you:
- your record: the completed counts for each morning, evening and night, the repetition count on each adhkar, the time each window was completed, and the streaks and awards derived from them;
- your settings: reminders, whether night adhkar count towards your scoring, appearance, Arabic font and text size, translations and transliteration;
- your chosen place and the prayer times the app has fetched for it;
- the app's backups of your record.
We cannot see any of this. There is no copy of your record on any server we run.
Backups and sync through your own cloud
On iPhone, the app copies its backups into your own iCloud account, and uses iCloud to keep your record current across your iPhones. On Android, it does the same through your own Google Drive, once you turn sync on. In both cases the data is held in your account with Apple or Google, under their terms, and we have no access to it. You can switch cloud backup or sync off in the app's settings.
You can also export your record yourself. A recovery file contains everything and restores a fresh install; a progress file contains the completion fields and moves your record between an iPhone and an Android phone. Both are ordinary files that you choose where to keep. They are not encrypted, so treat them as you would any personal document.
Prayer times and your place
Reminders and the day's windows depend on prayer times for your place. When you choose a place, the app sends its coordinates to a prayer-times service (Al Adhan) to fetch a month of times, and keeps the result on your device. On iPhone, searching for a place by name uses Google's Places service to turn your search into coordinates. Neither request carries anything about you other than the place you asked for; the app does not use your device's location in the background and does not send your location to us.
Advertising
The free app shows advertising from Google AdMob. We ask for non-personalised ads only, and we block gambling, alcohol and similar categories. Non-personalised ads still involve your device sending a request to Google, which can include your IP address and general device information, and Google uses that information under its own privacy policy. Subscribing to Adhkar Pro removes advertising entirely.
Subscriptions
Adhkar Pro is sold through the App Store or Google Play, and payment is handled by Apple or Google. We never see your card details. We use RevenueCat to recognise whether a subscription is active: it receives the store's receipt and an anonymous identifier for your installation, and tells the app which features to unlock. If you have signed in, it also tells our server that your account has an active subscription and when it ends, so that Pro follows you across your devices and shows next to your name to the friends you compete with.
If you sign in
Signing in is needed only for Adhkar Pro and for Compete with friends. You sign in with Apple or with Google, using the platform's own sheet, and we create an account that holds:
- a sign-in identifier from Apple or Google;
- the email address they provide, which may be a hidden relay address if you choose one with Apple;
- the display name you pick, which you can change at any time;
- whether your Adhkar Pro subscription is active and when it ends, if you subscribe;
- which family group you belong to, if you join a Pro Family plan.
Your email address is used to keep your account and is never shown to other users. Signing in does not upload your record, and does not change where it is kept.
Compete with friends
Compete is off unless you turn it on, and turning it on is a separate, explicit choice from signing in. When you do, the app sends the following to our server so that it can be shared with the friends you choose:
- the name you pick for yourself;
- for each day, how many of the morning, evening and night adhkar you completed, and how many there were.
Nothing else leaves your phone. Your location, prayer times, settings, streaks, the time you read and the repetition counts on each adhkar stay on your device.
Friends see your daily progress for the last thirty days, and whether you subscribe to Adhkar Pro. Friends are added only by invitation link: nobody can search for you, there is no public leaderboard, and no feed. The number of people who completed adhkar today is shown as a total, without names. You can hide your progress from a friend or remove a friend at any time; a friend you hide from sees that you are not sharing right now.
Our server can read these daily counts, because it has to compute the scores it shows your friends. They are encrypted in transit and at rest but are not end-to-end encrypted.
Notifications
Reminders are scheduled on your device from the prayer times it holds; they do not involve our server. If you compete with friends, the app can also send you a push notification when a friend completes a window you have not yet read, and when a friend sends encouragement. These are on by default with a visible switch, are never sent at night, and can be muted per friend.
How long we keep things
| What | Kept for |
|---|---|
| Each day's completion counts (Compete) | 45 days, then deleted |
| Your account, display name and subscription record | For as long as you have an account |
| Friendships and invitations | Until you remove the friend or delete your account |
| Your record on your phone | Entirely yours; we hold no copy |
Deleting your account in the app removes your account, your subscription record, your friends and every day's counts we hold, and revokes the sign-in with Apple or Google. Your record on your phone is not affected.
Who else handles data
- Apple and Google, for sign-in, payment, iCloud and Google Drive, under their own terms.
- RevenueCat, to recognise subscriptions.
- Google AdMob, for non-personalised advertising in the free app.
- Al Adhan and, on iPhone, Google Places, for prayer times and place search.
- Cloudflare and Neon, which host our server and its database.
We do not sell information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.
Children
The app is suitable for all ages and the advertising in it is restricted to family-safe categories. Accounts, subscriptions and Compete are intended for people old enough to hold an Apple or Google account under their own terms.
Your rights
Because your record is on your phone, you already hold it: export a recovery file to take a copy, or delete the app to remove it. For the account data we hold, you can change your display name and delete your account inside the app. If you would like a copy of what we hold, or to ask anything about this policy, write to privacy@getadhkar.com. If you are in the UK or the EU, you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.
Changes
When a feature changes what the server holds, this policy changes first. We will show the new text in the app before the change takes effect, and the date at the top of this page tells you when it was last revised.
